for your business

Features

Access control is boring. It's time for something new.

You should be able to open any door from your phone from anywhere, while still supporting Wiegand keypads and RFID badges if you need them.

You should be able to send one-time use passes via SMS. You should be able to sync users through an API from your HR software, or unlock your doors from Slack™.

Each building should know whether it's occupied or not, and be able to send alerts to whoever is on-call when suspicious activity is detected.

Cloud Native

Say goodbye to that ancient access control server in the closet. Each door gets its own decentralized controller connected to the cloud.

Realtime Security

The security landscape is constantly changing, so we push automatic updates to keep you current.

Flexible Access

Built for complex business cases with campuses, groups, departments, schedules and holidays.

AI Intrusion Detection

Use your existing cameras to detect people in each building, and send detection alerts to your on-call staff.

Overview

One Access Panel Per Door, All Connected to the Cloud

It doesn't matter how many buildings or doors you need to control... install one access panel near each door and manage them all from anywhere.

Turn your cameras into an AI-powered security system which automatically arms itself when the building becomes empty, and disarms when legitimate users are granted access.

Built by developers for developers with a first-class API: integrate with your current in-house and cloud-based systems.

FAQ

You can also check out our documentation or download the installation manual.

Yes! (mostly) Each Watchmark access panel downloads all the data it needs to function without internet. So entering a keypad code, scanning a badge, and mobile app access (via Bluetooth) are all still possible.

However, API access won't work without internet, and you won't be able to push updates (new users, schedules, etc) to that access panel until internet is restored.
The Watchmark app for iOS and Android allows users to unlock doors from the app and receive push notifications.

Additionally on the iOS app, users with the Manager or Admin roles can perform a variety of tasks such as viewing access logs, adding or revoking user access, and checking the current state of all doors in your organization.

Setup of Campuses/Schedules/Groups/etc is done by Admins in the main web app - the mobile app is geared toward everyday management tasks.
Watchmark will ship a free replacement access panel in the event of hardware failure, no matter how old the panel is! However, failure due to incorrect installation, flood, fire, etc may incur a replacement fee.

If the hardware becomes obsolete in a way that cannot be mitigated through a software update, Watchmark will also provide a new access panel.

All you're responsible for is any fee you're charged by your local access control professional to perform the replacement.

Your account must be in good standing (for the last 12 months, if you've been a client that long) to be eligible for free replacements.
Any camera that provides a snapshot URL (or RTSP URL) can be used, but we recommend IP cameras with good night vision residing on the same local network as your Watchmark access panels.

Automatic illumination is also important at night if large spaces are being monitored - lighting should come on automatically when motion is detected (some cameras have this feature, or low-cost motion activitated lights are widely available).
For each door you want to control, Watchmark will provide a separate access panel, and then you'll need to work with a local access control specialist to design an overall access plan for that door.

You'll need to take into account local buidling codes, what you want to happen in case of power loss, etc, and then purchase at least an electronic lock (electric strike, maglock, etc.) and install it on the door.

In the simplest setup possible, a two-connector wire is run from the electronic lock to the Watchmark access panel, and then an ethernet cable is run from the access panel to a router that provides power and internet to. See the installation manual for more details, and check out the this article in the documentation for ideas about designing an access control plan.
That really depends on your exact situation, but as long as you have some sort of electronic lock that the Watchmark access panel can power with 12v/24v (or else use a separate power supply and just have the access panel control the path to ground), then you should be able to use your current electronic lock.

Watchmark can also tie into existing keypads/badge readers that use standard Wiegand output (unless a strange custom data format is used).

So if you already have a standard electronic door setup, the odds are good you can reuse almost everything and just replace your existing access panel with Wachmark!
Many jurisdictions require professional installation of access control equipment by a licensed professional, so please check your local building codes and regulations.

It's fairly simple to wire the Watchmark access panel into the other system components, but incorrect installation of any one of the components in an access control system could destroy hardware or leave your building insecure, so we always recommend that you work with a qualified local professional.
Each Watchmark access panel is a powerful computer which can pull snapshots from your existing camera system, use advanced AI models to detect humans and vehicles, and then send alerts to your on-call staff if someone is in your building when it should be empty.

Each panel cycles through a list of cameras, so the more panels you have in a building, the more frequenty each camera gets checked.

Set up multiple levels of on-call staff, and alerts will escalate until they're resolved.
